Meet the Team

Rooted Embodiment is an intentionally small, women-owned pelvic health practice rooted in collaboration, continuity, and care that feels steady and supportive. Founded by both Brittany (PT, DPT, OCS) and Mariah (PTA), our space is guided by a shared belief that healing is most effective when it is attuned and individualized. We work together as a cohesive care team, offering depth, consistency, and thoughtful attention throughout your experience.

Brittany completes evaluations and supports ongoing treatment, with areas of special interest in pregnancy and postpartum support, pelvic stability, and recovery after birth. Mariah supports ongoing treatment as well as offering in-house yoga, with areas of special interest in nervous system regulation, sexual wellness, and LGBTQIA+ affirming care.

Together, we treat the full spectrum of pelvic health concerns. Our collaborative approach enables you to benefit from the combined expertise of two clinicians, two skill sets, and two healing perspectives, all woven into a unified plan of care. Sessions at Rooted Embodiment are guided by consent, presence, and respect for your body’s wisdom. We move at your pace and center your autonomy, creating space for healing that feels grounded, gentle, and deeply supportive.

  • Co-Owner, PT, DPT, OCS

Brittany is a licensed physical therapist and co-founder of Rooted Embodiment. She earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Quinnipiac University and completed a year-long orthopedic residency, becoming an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS).

With a strong foundation in orthopedics, Brittany’s passion for supporting patients led her to specialize in pelvic health. She has completed advanced training in pelvic health through multiple Herman & Wallace courses, with particular interests in treating pregnancy and postpartum populations. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care that helps patients feel empowered and supported. Together with her business partner Mariah, she opened Rooted Embodiment to create a safe, welcoming space where patients receive personalized, one-on-one care.

Outside of the clinic, Brittany enjoys traveling the world with her husband, hiking new trails, eating great food, and curling up with a good book. She brings the same curiosity, warmth, and balance she values in her personal life into her practice.

  • Co-Owner & PTA

Mariah is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant and co-founder of Rooted Embodiment, with a deep belief in the therapeutic power of movement. Her background in yoga and dance informs a gentle, embodied approach to care, one that centers awareness and connection. She is a registered 200-Hour Yoga Teacher and offers movement practices through Alchemy Movement, weaving strength, fluidity, and nature-based embodiment into her work. Through a collaborative partnership with Rooted Embodiment, Mariah brings Alchemy Movement’s classes into the clinic, offering in-house movement practices that complement therapeutic care.

After graduating from her PTA program and beginning her career in outpatient orthopedics, Mariah pursued advanced education in pelvic health, deepening her passion for women’s health, sexual wellness, and LGBTQIA+ affirming care. By integrating pelvic health principles with nervous-system–aware movement, Mariah strives to create a space that feels welcoming, affirming, and grounded in self-compassion. Together with her business partner, Brittany, she co-founded Rooted Embodiment to support personal empowerment and reconnection to the body as home.

Outside of the clinic, Mariah can often be found reading, hiking, dancing, and celebrating creativity and the magic of individuality. She brings curiosity, warmth, and reverence for individuality into her work, inviting each person to move, heal, and exist in their body with greater ease.
